WHAT IS ENERGYSTAR?
The ENERGY STAR High Efficiency program was designed to aid consumers in identifying the most energy-efficient HVAC products on the market. The ENERGY STAR label will only appear on the product literature of a product that meets the program's efficiency criteria. Gas furnaces are required to be 90% AFUE or higher to qualify. Central air conditioning systems and air-to-air heat pumps are required to have a SEER rating of 12.0 or higher.
